UNIQUE WEDDING CEREMONIES
Do you want a Puerto Vallarta wedding ceremony that mixes tradition with modern ideas and concepts? To go along with your dream-come-true Puerto Vallarta wedding, check out this concise yet powerful and meaningful wedding ceremony I wrote myself (This ceremony is what 99% of my guests choose!):

"We are gathered here today on this most happy occasion to join together this man and this woman* in matrimony.

"Scott Peck wrote that, 'True spiritual growth can be achieved only through the persistent exercise of real love.' Love is a decision, an active choice. Marriage, being the highest of love's commitments, is the truest opportunity for spiritual evolution, and spiritual evolution is what the business of life is all about. Let your marriage be the vehicle by which you come to know God and the highest versions of yourselves.

"You will always cherish the memory of getting married in Mexico, where the people say, 'Mi casa es su casa,' meaning 'My house is your house' or 'What's mine is yours.' As you actively decide to love each other everyday until the end of your days, remember this Mexican saying, and you will never go astray. When times are tough--and they will be--think back on this moment and remember that loving each other is a choice you make. In the face of disagreements, choose to love your partner and freely say, 'What is mine is yours.'

Vows:
"I, ________, take thee ________ / to be my wedded husband-wife-partner* / for better or for worse / for richer or for poorer / in sickness and in health / pledging my honesty / open-ness and faithfulness / to you.

I Do's:
"How do you answer...do you take ______ to be your husband-wife-partner*, to love, honor, cherish, and support him/her--forsaking all others?" (I do.)

Rings:
"A wedding ring is a powerful and almost universal symbol. May these rings always remind you that marriage is sustained by 'choosing' to love, not by 'falling' in love. With these rings, may you never forget that 'love' is a verb--something you do, not something you have. Rings please. Repeat after me.

"With this ring, I thee wed / May it be a reminder / of my decision to love you.

"Now, without further adieu, it is my distinct honor to pronounce you husband and wife.* As they say in Spanish, 'Beso!'"

---
*I do have man/man and woman/woman versions of this ceremony and am happy to perform them.

SERVICES & PRICES

I am available to perform affordable, custom wedding ceremonies in English. Most of the weddings I perform are spiritual ceremonies (not legally binding) for Americans planning destination weddings in and around Puerto Vallarta. My rates are based on the distance I must travel to get to your wedding ceremony. I charge $30 pesos/km (about $1.50 USD/mile). I have a $250 USD (3,000 pesos) minimum. This price does not include attending your rehearsal. My minimum fee for attending your wedding rehearsal is $75 USD (900 pesos) with the same mileage/travel fee applying if your ceremony is located outside of the general Puerto Vallarta area. Consultations are free and can be done over the phone, via e-mail, or in person upon your arrival in Mexico. My business partner is a bilingual DJ--if you hire us both for your wedding, my fee is reduced to just $200. That is a savings of $50...you won't beat that deal anywhere!

Although I am not yet 100% fluent in Spanish, I can  perform your wedding ceremony in Spanish or bilingually--for $50 USD ($600 pesos) extra. I also perform same-sex wedding ceremonies, vow renewals, non-denominational quinceañeras, funeral services, and pre-marital counseling.

A non-refundable $100 USD deposit must be paid in advance for all weddings. The deposit is payable to Min. Staci Marquez-Nichols via direct deposit, traveler's check, or PayPal. The remaining balance is due on the day of the ceremony is to be paid in cash only (pesos).

My competitors charge $350+ USD for the same services:

PRE-MARITAL CLASS/COUNSELING

"Most people put more time and effort into planning a wedding reception than the marriage itself."
-Paul Friedman, p. 78, Lessons For a Happy Marriage

Did you know couples that participate in pre-marital counseling are 30% less likely to divorce? The term "pre-marital counseling" is actually a misnomer, a "class" in how to have a happy marriage would be more appropriate. You wouldn't have a baby without taking a birthing class, right? Well, don't get married without investing a few extra hours that could make a world of difference in your over-all quality of life everyday! Even for couples who are already living together, have a child together, or are renewing vows, my services can help rejuvenate, revitalize, and strengthen your existing relationship.

My non-denominational pre-marital counseling program is extremely flexible and affordable. We can do it in as few as 2-3 sessions but 6-8 is recommended. Sessions can take place over the phone or in-person. The price is $35 USD/hour and the course workbook "Lessons for a Happy Marriage" (by Paul Friedman) is provided free of charge.

Here's what is covered in my pre-marital class:

~ the 3 marriage killers
~ overfamiliarity
~ communication
~ business arrangement mentality
~ reaffirmation
~ anatomy of a marriage
~ why men do what they do; why women do what they do
~ how to apologize to a woman; how to forgive a man
~ family planning (money, kids, career, in-laws, etc)
~ how to make a woman feel supported; how to ensure a man's freedom
~ ...and MUCH more!

VOW RENEWALS
As Puerto Vallarta's most affordable wedding officiant and ordained minister, I do also perform vow renewal ceremonies. The price is the same as a regular wedding ceremony ($250 USD minimum). Here is one of my most popular vow renewal ceremonies, which I wrote myself.

"We are gathered here today on this most happy occasion to celebrate a renewal of marriage vows between _________ and ________. Today, you will announce to each other and the world once again, 'You are the one for me, so much so that I want to commit to you all over again.'

"_________ and ________, I don't need to tell you what marriage means, what promises and compromises are about, or how to love. A healthy, happy, long-lasting marriage takes effort--it doesn't just happen. You have made it back to the altar here today because you did follow through on your original vows and faced those tasks with diligence and care. You've survived 'better' and 'worse,' you've seen 'sickness' and 'health,' you've been 'richer' and 'poorer.' Today is as much a celebration of the past ___ years as it is a new dedication to your marriage.

"_________ and ________, would you please close your eyes for a moment? I want you to remember your original wedding day--the place, the weather, what you wore, who was with you as you got ready, the anticipation, what you felt when you first saw each other at the ceremony, the love and joy bursting from your beings. Did the rest of the world fade away as you looked deeper than ever into each other's eyes? Now open your eyes and look who is standing before you today. As you gaze into each other's eyes now, may you always remember your beginning, yet live in the moment, and cherish each tomorrow. The oneness that you see in each other's gaze is a very, very special thing to be treasured and respected forever.

Vows:
"I, ________, believe in this marriage more than ever / Today, my vows to you are made with a new certainty and clarity / I promise to love you exactly as you are / to support you at every step / to listen with an open mind / and to speak with respect / I cherish our bond and honor it above all others / I am so proud and blessed / to be on the jouney of life with you / until death do us part.

Closing:
"_________ and ________, may you always feel the love and joy in your hearts that you feel today. It gives me much pleasure to pronounce that you are re-dedicated and re-committed to one another as husband and wife.* Congratulations--as they say in Spanish, 'Beso!'"

---
*I do have man/man and woman/woman versions of this ceremony and am happy to perform them.

ABOUT GETTING MARRIED IN MEXICO

Puerto Vallarta is the 5th most popular destination wedding location IN THE WORLD! Amazing...

You have two options to get married in Puerto Vallarta (or anywhere in Mexico):

1. Have a civil ceremony in the US before or after your spiritual (but not legally binding) ceremony and reception in Puerto Vallarta. Many Puerto Vallarta ministers, including myself, will present you with a decorative, symbolic certificate of having performed your spritual ceremony (nice to hang on the wall or stick in a scrapbook).

2. Have a civil ceremony in Mexico (required whether you are a citizen or a foreigner) followed by a spiritual ceremony (in a church or with an ordained minister like myself). If you do this in Puerto Vallarta, you will be required to attend a premarital counseling class at the court, which is offered just once a week. Blood tests are also required, and both parties must be over 18. Your birth certificate and other relevant documents must be translated by a certified translator to be eligible for the civil ceremony. 90% of Mexican churches are Catholic. To be married in a Catholic church, both bride and groom must be Catholic. Learn more.
